A Unique Experience

A Hereford Beefstouw is all about quality steak and great wines, but art and design is just as inherent in the concept as what we put on our plates and pour in our glasses. We have a long tradition of working with renowned artists and designers, continuously improving the aesthetic experience that is part of a visit to our restaurants.

The Menu

A Hereford Beefstouw’s menu offers a variety of cuts to ensure that every guest can find their personal favorite on the menu. One thing is guaranteed, all our cuts are tender, succulent and of premium quality.

If you prefer your steak to have a juicy and intense taste of beef, we recommend the sirloin with its heavy marbling and fatty rim. However, if you are in the mood for a steak with a less dominant taste of beef, maybe the eye fillet is the way to go – extremely tender and thickly cut.

T-bone steak, ribeye or a seared, ground beef steak are some of the other options in our steak house in Herning. Don’t forget, our skilled staff is always more than ready to guide you when searching for the perfect cut.

We import wine from numerous countries around the world – including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, The United States and Australia. However diverse, the regions of Burgundy and Piemonte are particularly prominent on our wine list

Wine is an absolute cornerstone in our concept, hence the quality of the wines is one of several critical factors in regards to whether or not a specific wine is deemed suitable for A Hereford Beefstouw.

Our focus at A Hereford Beefstouw has always been on the beef. Everything we do starts with steak and with our Danish roots in mind. We focus on Nordic foodways of fresh, seasonal and cool climate produce, offered in a relaxed Danish designed setting. From owning our own beef herd and dry ageing facility, to designing and manufacturing the lights, tables, chairs and knives, our approach is relaxed Nordic in simplicity with a focus on the details.

Organic Design

Contrary to its “classic” predecessor in Adelaide, the new restaurant in Melbourne is an architectural first for A Hereford Beefstouw. With its unique and rather organic design, this restaurant marks the beginning of a new architectural style within the concept of A Hereford Beefstouw. With the design focusing mainly on organic materials and shapes, a visit to AC/DC Lane surely holds more than a mere experience of taste. Hence the classical tradition of decorating our restaurants with contemporary art, has been translated in to an architectural/artistic whole by young architect Thomas Tørslev Jensen 

True to Core Values

All interior for the restaurant in Melbourne is custom made in Denmark and later shipped to Australia. The floors and tables are solid wood. Danish and foreign designers have designed the chairs of the restaurant and the extensive lighting system is designed and produced by LIBO which is A Hereford Beefstouw subsidiary. However, modern and futuristic in its design, this restaurant is true to the traditional core values of A Hereford Beefstouw. This includes the traditional open grill, towels hanging from underneath the tables, personal ordering cards, an impressive salad bar and the characteristic trolleys for tranching meats and fish and preparing desserts.
The restaurant can seat 125 guest in the dining area and offers a beautiful bar for before and after dinner drinks.
